These tortillas only consist of two, I repeat: two (!) ingredients, are made soo fast and easily, taste a hundred times better than those you buy from the supermarket, are fresh and vegan and warm and soft inside, and do not contain any oils or fats (HCLF), they truly stand out from all the other baked goods you can make in the kitchen.
I solemnly swear I do not have a tortilla fetish. Okay no, that was a lie. Now excuse me, writing this made me so hungry that I’m literally off to the kitchen to make these. What is life.
INGREDIENTS FOR 3 TORTILLAS:
1 cup (125g)
(WE USE SPELT FLOUR BUT IT ALSO WORKS WITH WHEAT/ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR.)
1/2 cup (125ml)
+ Mix your flour and salt and add in your boiling water.
+ Stir with a cooking spoon first, then knead your dough with your hands.
+ Cut your dough in 3 equal pieces. Roll till each piece is a round and flat cake.
+ Bake each in a medium-heated, laminated pan till they’re brown on each side. You won’t need oil.
+ Your tortillas are extremely versatile: Top them with hummus and fresh vegetables like we did, or add some nougat creme or peanut butter on top and turn them into a sweet treat. You might as well just sprinkle some sea salt, chili powder and garlic powder on top and enjoy them as pizza bread, and, and, and. Or why not make your dough a little thicker and turn it into a crispy, oven-fresh pizza, topped with some fresh arugula (recipe here)?
